Updates to Streaming during COVID-19
Update 1/16/2021: As of today, we have reverted our streaming policy to what it was pre-COVID. All films are available to stream up to 1080p again!
Hello everyone! I hope all is well and healthy during these unique and troubling times we seem to be facing at the moment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of people have been working from home, making internet service providers see an amount of users and daily activity that has never been seen before. Because of this, more strain has been put on our network’s infrastructure than ever before. To help mitigate this, and reserve some of the bandwidth for more mission-critical things like business calls, business remote desktop, etc., Stoic Productions has opted to reduce streaming bandwidth for all of our films until further notice.
Due to this change, the maximum resolution available for all Stoic Productions films will now be 480p. While this may degrade the quality of the video a little bit, the bandwidth it saves during streaming is more than enough to help. With these current settings, we estimate we will only use ~1/4 to 1/2 of what we were, saving it for those who need it for their livelihood.
Also, please note that due to the load on the infrastructure currently, there may be periods where Stoic Productions may be unstable or even inaccessible. Please note this is only temporary and is most likely a problem with our/your internet, not us being down. This will be most apparent during peak hours during the daytime.
Together we can all get through this, we just need to keep hope and stick together (mentally and emotionally of course). And most importantly…
